The family business is known for its customer-focused approach and for delivering quality and reliability. At their location in Alkmaar, they wanted to take their presentation of used cars to the next level. This included finding a more efficient way to photograph vehicles.
An efficient solution for vehicle photography
The demand for online vehicle presentations is growing, and with it the need for good photography. Volvo Ton van Kuyk encountered the problem that manual photography took a lot of time and the quality could vary per employee. They were looking for a solution that would help them capture vehicles faster, more consistently, and more professionally. That’s how they ended up at Pre-Motion. We offered a solution that met their needs: an open, automated photo studio in the showroom. In the following paragraph, we explain what that studio looks like.
A custom-made open studio in the showroom
For the Alkmaar location, we created a custom-made 7 x 8 meter L-shaped photo studio. The studio is equipped with a 5-meter diameter UltraLow™ turntable. The floor has been raised by 3 cm to ensure a neat finish and to keep the turntable level with the floor. Above the studio is a lighting deck with a diffusion cloth for soft, even lighting. Because the studio is located in the showroom, an open design without closed walls was chosen. This keeps the space transparent and functional. Curious to see what it looks like? How the studio works in practice
The studio is simple and efficient to use. Employees drive the car onto the turntable, then start the automated workflow with a single push of a button. The camera and turntable take over the process completely and ensure consistent, professional photos. The images are automatically saved and can be uploaded directly to Volvo Ton van Kuyk’s system. This means the car is quickly and perfectly presented online.
A structured process and satisfied customer
The project was prepared and carried out in close consultation with the customer. Thanks to short lines of communication and clear communication, the installation could be thoroughly prepared. Volvo Ton van Kuyk is satisfied with the end result: vehicles can now be professionally photographed with minimal effort and in a short time. This makes their online used car offering more attractive and saves valuable time on the work floor.
